WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK MY NEWBORN PHOTOS?

The best time to book is before baby arrives! I suggest contacting me while still pregnant, any time from your 20 week scan to let me know your due date, and then as soon as baby arrives when i will then give you slots for the first 4-21 days and you can choose one which is convenient for you.

 

WHAT IS THE BEST AGE TO PHOTOGRAPH MY NEWBORN?

The best age to photograph a newborn is between 4-21 days following birth, but the sooner the better. During this time frame babies are more likely to sleep soundly when being re positioned, and they still have that beautiful baby curliness which helps positioning.

 

WHAT IF MY BABY IS OLDER THAN 14 DAYS AND I WANT TO BOOK A SESSION? 

Babies over the age of two weeks have more awake time, wake much easier when being repositioned, and generally don’t sleep as soundly as “younger” newborns. If your baby is still FAST asleep after feeds then we can talk about a session!

 

WHERE DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?

All newborn sessions take place in my specially tailored newborn studio based in Skelmersdale. It is light and airy and designed for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching me create the special images of your tiny new life!

 

I HAVE OLDER CHILDREN WHO I WOULD LIKE PHOTOGRAPHED WITH MY NEWBORN. CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE THIS?

If there are sibling images included in the package you have chosen, yes!
Although these images are done at the end of the session.
Please bring things to occupy them during the session, so we have plenty of quiet time!
If somebody could bring them towards the end, even better. they tend to get bored in the studio as its quiet and really warm.

 

DO YOU PROVIDE PROPS AND HATS?

Yes, i provide all things needed. Everything is all prepared ready in the studio. All i ask is that you bring a *few* bottles made up incase baby needs topping up throughout the session. This will more than likely be the case, but is totally normal due to how much i will be moving baby.

 

HOW SOON WILL I BE ABLE TO SEE MY PHOTOS?

I preview an image the night of/night after your session at your request. I aim for a turn around time of around 2-3 weeks for finished galleries. Once I have personally edited your photos, you will get a link to view your gallery along with the password to enter and a 4 digit pin to be able to download them to your computer.
If your gallery is slightly longer than the stated turnaround time, this does not mean i've forgotten about it. It will mean im still working on your images. Every session is different in its own way and requires different methods of editing depending on various things. I work tirelessly behind the scenes to get galleries to their forever homes as fast as humanly possible. As soon as galleries are finished, i send them straight to your booking email!

 

CAN I PRINT THE PHOTOS IN THE GALLERY?

Yes you can! Once you have downloaded your images you are free to print them and use them how you wish. It is however illegal to edit or alter them in any way including social media filters. I do recommend getting your products through me to guarantee quality, but you are under no obligation to do so. I am not liable for any prints or products i have not supplied, especially lower quality high street quality printers. The lab i use supply the highest quality, fine art professional products which are best teamed with your professional images. they are reasonably priced too - display them in all their glory!
