WHY BOOK ME?

I'm Jade, and I'm one of the leading newborn photographers in the north west.
If timeless with a luxury feel is your vibe, I’m your girl. 
I’m a registered nurse and have a level 4 qualification in childcare too. I’ve been a newborn photographer for 15 years and have almost 3000 babies experience.
After a long fertility battle and 7 rounds of IVF, I became a mama to twin girls in 2023 and a baby boy in 2025. I wholeheartedly understand the importance and magnitude of how special your baby, and these images are.

Your baby will be in the best hands possible and handled delicately throughout. Their safety is paramount the whole way through.

I’m also a perfectionist… every single image is retouched to the highest standard. 

WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Sessions take place in my purpose built home studio in Standish, WN6 Greater Manchester. 
After 8 amazing years in my Skelmersdale commercial studio, I'm over the moon to have a cosy personable space to conduct sessions. 
I have clients that travel from all over the UK, even as far as London and Scotland to have their baby captured.
You will receive detailed directions and instructions in the prep info which is sent before your session. 

 

WHEN AND HOW SHOULD I BOOK? 

To book, click on the ‘book now’ button and select the month you are due from the drop down. This is secured with a £50 deposit which is deducted from your chosen package on the day. 

 

You can secure as early as your 12 week scan, but from your 20 week scan is usually when to secure.

You book the month you are due, whether this be the first of that month or the 31st. 

We don’t schedule a date for the session until baby has arrived.

Once you are booked in, your baby is guaranteed a space within the first 4 weeks whether they decide to come early or late. I only take on a VERY limited amount of sessions each month for this reason.  

Booking whilst still pregnant is essential as I don’t often have space for last minute arrivals, I prioritise my bookings first. 

 

WHAT IF MY BABY DOESN’T CO OPERATE? 

The sessions are really relaxed and baby led. I leave plenty of time between sessions incase we need to stop and feed or settle. I capture awake shots as well as sleepy so depending on how baby is feeling at the time we roll with it! There is only so long a newborn can stay awake so even if they are a little unsettled to begin with, they’ll soon drift off to sleep.

I send detailed prep info beforehand with what to bring and how to prepare. 

WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR GALLERIES?
I usually deliver proof galleries within approx 1 week of your session for you to select your favourite images. 
One I receive your list, I then make a start on perfecting the chosen ones. Turnaround is typically 2-3 weeks however depending on number of images and the level of editing needed, this could vary slightly.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT?
I ask that only two adults accompany baby as there is only seating for two and sessions can last a few hours. 

The studio can get really warm as I have to heat this adequately to make sure babies are a safe temperature whilst having minimal layers on. You will be able to put your feet up and relax whilst you watch me capture your brand new baby from all angles. There will be bottles of water but you are welcome to bring along any drinks or snacks if you wish.
I will take the reins with baby after their initial feed, unless they need a snuggle or further feeds from parents!

 

CAN I BRING SIBLINGS? 

Yes absolutely! Sibling shots are included in most packages. 

I do usually ask that arrangements are made to have them collected or one of you take them off after their part is complete, as there is limited space and sessions can last a few hours. It’s warm and quiet it’s not the kind of environment a child wants to sit in and i wouldn’t expect them to sit still for that long! I want all of you family to be happy in the studio. If they are staying for the duration you can bring them activities to keep them occupied whilst waiting.

There is a small enclosed park a 30 second walk away.

I can do the sibling and family shots at the beginning of the session which usually last maximum of 30 minutes, so I can then focus my full attention on your new baby. I want you to have a laid back experience watching the session also. 

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION? 

You will receive a watermarked proof gallery within approx one week of your session for you to select your favourite images (number based on the package you have chosen)

Proof galleries are live for 24h for you to finalise which images you’d like. 

I then edit and perfect your chosen images ready to send over and be downloaded. This can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on the number of images and level of editing involved. 

 

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR? 

You don’t need to bring anything for your newborn - this is all covered in the studio. I have lots of little outfits and wraps that your newborn will be posed in. 

My style is very neutral and light. White, cream, beige or brown work the best. 

Dresses or outfits for girls in any of these colours, for boys simple tops work great and linen or light coloured shorts or trousers are perfect. 

For parents these colours apply too. There is no pressure to get dressed up, unless you want to. Casual fits the style brilliantly. Anything floaty and loose fitting for mums especially if you are feeling self conscious after birth. I want you to love your images and be comfortable posing.

For dads, bottoms should be either light trousers or black or dark jeans / pants. 

 

Please avoid any bright colours, patterns especially stripes, big logos. This doesn’t fit the style of image and won’t give the same finish as the recommended colour palette. 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME? 

You can bring drinks and snacks for whilst you are at the studio. 

For baby, if bottle fed bring extra feeds to what they normally need. I explain more of this in my prep info. 

Bring a sterilised dummy with you (even if they don’t use one) this is sometimes the difference in getting a specific shot or not and it wouldn’t cause any dependency for brief use. If you would prefer not to use one at all then this is totally fine too, we can skip certain shots if needed. 

Bring a change of comfy, cool clothes for after your family shots are done if you’d like to change out of your portrait outfit. 
You will receive further information in the prep info you will receive once we set the date for the session.

 

ARE THERE TOILET FACILITIES? 

Yes. There is a toilet just for clients located just across the way in my garage which you will be able to access whenever needed. The toilet seat has a built in toddler seat too for your little ones.
